Simon Buckingham is the General Partner of Nonvoice Ventures.
Simon built the Ringtones.com mobile service into a global company with a dozen worldwide subsidiaries. He completed an IPO and then sold the company to Liberty Media, a deal which led him to move from the U.K. to the U.S.
Before Ringtones.com, Simon started his career at Vodafone where he product managed the launch of text messaging (SMS) and created the Vodafone business partners program for developers. Simon has since developed extensive global senior mobile telco relationships. Throughout his career, Simon has developed deep expertise in product launches and marketing and international business relations and partnerships.
Having bought, sold, built and financed many companies, his fundraising expertise helps Nonvoice Ventures portfolio companies with access to capital.
Peter Tomlinson assists in all areas of Nonvoice Ventures in particular assessing potential investments before they are made and managing our investments after they have been completed. Peter joined Nokia Mobile Phones in its very early days and helped open Nokia's manufacturing plants around the world from Europe to the U.S. to Hong Kong and China.
He has also worked for other telecoms companies including Motorola and Brightpoint (now Ingram Micro). More recently, Peter has been a startup advisor, agent investor, consultant and non-executive director for publicly traded companies.
Based in Norway, Shaun has 15 years of global entrepreneurial tech-business experience & 20 years with TMT internationally, primarily Internet-Telecom convergence. Involved with 100+ tech-startups since 1997 & several global startup/tech/investment communities. Degree in E-Business 2001, Corporate Master of Tech Management, Entrepreneurship & Disruptive Innovation studies at NTNU, Uni. of Oxford, UC Berkeley, 2006-2008.
Entrepreneur, advisor, venture catalyst over the last decades, building tech-startup, investment communities by founding, co-initiating several grassroots industry initiatives. Involved as an industry connector in global tech since 2007, been part of several emerging tech-startup communities since inception: from Web to E-Business to SoMe to Mobile Internet to Apps to IoT to Big Data to AI to Fintech to DLT/Blockchain to Crowdfunding to 5G to Nano-Quantech. Involved with Nordic tech-VCs since 2001, global Tier 1 tech-VC community since 2007.
Maria co-founded Blue Label Ventures, a Corporate VC focussing on investments in Digital Health, IOT, Cyber Security, Fintech (incl. InsurTech). Prior she was CIO at Cell C, a challenger mobile carrier, and prior held various leadership roles in Business Development, Go-to-Market Strategy, Strategic Partner Management and Product Marketing for Lucent, Nokia, Vodafone, Globalstar and various startups. Maria holds a BSC in Engineering.
